Online & Face-to-Face Yoga Therapy for Persistent Pain & Musculoskeletal Conditions

Yoga Therapy is the use of yoga practices to better manage and improve physical and mental health conditions. In yoga therapy, self-empowerment, self-care and overall well-being are promoted and encouraged.

Our yoga therapy sessions focus on breath-work, mindfulness, as well as gentle and therapeutic movements (asanas).

Our current group and one-to-one sessions can help with managing chronic pain, back pain (including lower back pain), and arthritis.

What our clients say about our sessions

  • "I am grateful for having the opportunity to work with a therapist who is compassionate and understanding and who made me feel like an individual and respected for the pain and the emotional needs I have due to my condition. I feel as if I can build on what I have that works rather than what I am unable to do. I felt as if Christina understood that RA affects you as a person mentally, physically and emotionally- this is rare in the medical world so many heartfelt thanks!"

  • "I have benefited in many ways from the course, but the most dramatic was reinforcing the use of Mindful breathing to control my anxiety and depression. My mind has been quite turned around. I look forward to developing this and the chair yoga in the future."

  • "I found Christina to be professional, knowledgeable, and capable. She gave clear instruction and offered several good suggestions as to how I might exercise. More specifically the session helped me - to breath properly during exercise and perform exercises that will help my lower back become flexible and pain and stiffness free."

FAQs

  • Our current group classes are designed to help with chronic pain, back pain and lower back pain, and arthritis. The movement in our classes are very gentle and planned by your yoga therapist to correspond to the tailored class. At Nilbon, we believe that everyone can benefit from yoga, however, in case you are in doubt about which class would be the most beneficial for you, you can call us and we will be happy to guide you.

  • You can take a look at Nilbon’s yoga therapists page and the type of classes that they teach and then our timetable. You will need to register for the whole term, which lasts for 6 sessions upfront and book an introductory meeting with your yoga therapist. We recommend that you continue to sign up for the group class each term so that you can benefit from your yoga therapy practice.

  • Our classes take place on Zoom. So, having a steady internet connection and a device that allows you to see your teacher clearly are essential. We kindly ask you to place your device somewhere that allows your yoga therapist to see you. We recommend that you use a yoga mat. In certain classes, your yoga therapist may recommend using certain props, like yoga blocks, yoga belt, blankets, or a chair. If this is the case, you will be informed prior to the session. However, you do not need to purchase these props and you can have a conversation with your yoga therapist about how you can use what you have at home.

  • Nilbon’s yoga therapists are trained to work with a variety of chronic conditions that yoga therapy may help with. While the primary focus of our group classes is on pain, in your one-to-one sessions, you can work with your therapist to come up with a plan and a home practice that works best for you.

  • You can start by reading our yoga therapists’ bio and see whether they offer one-to-one sessions. Their availabilities for one-to-one sessions are shown on our Timetable. You can purchase your sessions on the website. We recommend booking at least 6 sessions so that your yoga therapist can develop a tailored programme for you and work with you on your goals.

  • The movements included in our small group sessions are gentle and therapeutic. You do not need prior experience with yoga or yoga therapy and your teacher will guide you through your practice and makes sure that the movements are modified in a way that are the most suitable for you.
